For my website I had this image stating “beveiligd” for password protected posts. I thought I should be able to do something more creative. So I picked up my drill, an old CD and dug into the camping gear to find this small lock. After that I started with 2 flashes but I had to dig around in my strobist box to find a slave unit for a third flash to add a little bottom fill. Still needs retouching since this lock is a couple of years old.
Setup shot included, I masked out the not interesting parts (read: the mess in my study / hobby room) short descpription:
- I used 1 Nikon SB24, 1 Metz 54Mz3 and 1 Luxon 360 AFN (never heard of that one hey?),
- 2 Yonguo triggers and 1 slavecube.
- A piece of wood acted as gobo to keep light from the bottom flash on the background, background was slanted a bit forward so the light from the key light wouldn’t light the bg from above.
- Bottom flash diffused by paper from previous shoot
- Rimlight gridded with DIY grid
- Canon 40D + Canon 50mm 1.8, n0 macro but a little cropping was involved.
