I started shooting these flowers because their colors attract me. I knew the purple/red color would be hard to recreate. Using a number of gels in strobist style on one hand held flash and some (un)fitting white balance settings I tried to get as close as possible, but still too far away from the original.
The images were decent and nice, but that wasn’t enough for me. So I started working on crops to find out if I could create something interesting.
