Today I was installing someones laptop, providing, amongst others, Skype. For those of you that don’t know Skype: it is a utility that allows you to call someone via the Internet (aka Voice Over IP or VOIP) instead of the old copper wires. One major plus for Skype is the ability to use your Webcam and voice call someone.
Ever since I used a video camera I remember that I was intrigued by the feedback signals if a camera was presented with the images it created. So I used that in my picture for today to create the Droste effect, where a smaller version of a picture is included in the picture. Since I was already holding a laptop, I had to use my cell phone to create this crappyc.am / bestc.am image. Notice the double Droste effect created by including the phone in the image.
